Saw one whilst in New Jersey on what was not really a birding trip at all. The bird was in Asbury Park and it was around about this time of year. I had my binoculars with me and had half decent views, and as such I was able to make and provide a reasonably good description to the NJ Rarities Committee. Unsurprisingly the record was considered not proven..... .
Really struck by the slight large gull size and shape of the bird and the 2nd winter Med. Gull type primary pattern. Oh, and yes, leg colour. This picture is so confirmatory for me!!!!!
